Our parish has a special concern for those who are homebound or in the hospital, due to age or illness. We regularly visit people in their homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals. Pastoral visits ensure a continued connection with the parish and the reception of the Lord in Holy Communion. Visiting staff pray with the homebound and assure them of the prayers of the parish and pastor.
Pastoral visits are carried out by Maria Habib, Pastoral Assistant, Dcn. Todd Burud, Evangelization and Pastoral Support, and a small group of volunteers. The frequency of visits is determined by the person being visited. Fr. Cristobal, Priest-in-Residence, is happy to pay sacramental visits to administer the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick.
Please consider bringing the Lord in the Holy Eucharist to homebound parishioners, whether they are living at home or in assisted living facilities. Through this beautiful ministry, you can bring the love and healing of Christ to those who are isolated from the communal worship of God in the Mass. In order to serve in this ministry, you must attend the Diocesan training to be an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC). You will also be provided with a brief training and resources on visiting and praying with those who are elderly, sick, or suffering.
If you have a family member or know of a parish member who cannot attend Mass and would like to receive Holy Communion, or if you would like to volunteer to become a homebound minister of Holy Communion, please contact us!
